Privacy policy, in plain English.
The short version
- We collect what you send us through the forms, plus basic analytics about how the site is used.
- We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Ask us to delete what we hold and we will, whatever country you are in.
- One address for all of it: info@adnius.com. A person reads it.
Who we are
ADNIUS Marketing & Design is a bilingual digital marketing agency. We have been building websites, brands and campaigns since 2014, for clients across the United States, Latin America and Europe.
This policy covers adnius.com and every page under it, including the Spanish version. Our Venezuelan site at adnius.com/ven is a separate installation with its own notice.
We are a small team, not a corporation with a privacy department. When you write to us about your data, the reply comes from someone who works here.
What we collect
What you hand us
Only what you type. Through the contact form: your name, email, phone if you choose to give it, company, website, which services you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message box. Through the newsletter form: name, email, and phone if you give it. Through the booking link: your name, email and whatever you add to the booking notes.
What your browser tells us
Like almost every website, ours records technical information automatically: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, which pages you visited and for how long, and which site sent you here. From the IP we can tell roughly which city you are in, not where you live.
What we deliberately do not collect
No payment card details: invoicing happens outside this site. No sensitive categories either. We do not ask for health data, biometrics, precise location, racial or ethnic origin, religious or political views, sexual orientation or union membership, and we do not want them. If you send any of that in a message, we delete it.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and, if it goes further, to quote and deliver the work.
- To send the newsletter, but only if you ticked the box.
- To keep the site running, spot abuse and fix what breaks.
- To understand which pages are useful and which are not.
- To measure whether an advertisement brought you here, if you accepted marketing cookies.
- To keep the records that tax and accounting rules require.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: consent for the newsletter and for analytics and advertising cookies, legitimate interest for site security, performance of a contract for client work, and legal obligation for accounting records.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files a site leaves in your browser. Ours fall into three groups:
- EssentialKeep the site working: session state, security, form submission. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- AnalyticsCount visits and measure which pages work. Aggregated, not used to identify you. Off until you accept them.
- MarketingLet us know whether an advertisement brought you here. Off until you accept them.
The first time you arrive, a banner asks which groups you accept. Nothing beyond the essential ones loads until you choose, and you can change your mind at any time from the same banner. Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies from its settings, though blocking the essential ones will break parts of the site.
We honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends that signal, we treat it as an opt-out request without you having to ask.
How long we keep it
- EnquiriesTwenty-four months from your last message, if the enquiry did not turn into work.
- Client recordsSeven years after the final invoice, because tax rules require it.
- NewsletterUntil you unsubscribe. Every email has a link, and it works on the first click.
- AnalyticsFourteen months, then it is aggregated and the individual record is gone.
You do not have to wait for those periods to run out. Ask us to delete something earlier and we will, unless a law forces us to keep it.
Your rights
Different laws grant different rights depending on where you live. Rather than sort you by geography, we give everyone the same rights, whether or not the law where you are requires it.
- Know what we hold about you and why.
- Get a copy of it, in a format you can take elsewhere.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing. There is nothing to opt out of, since we do neither, but the right stands.
- Not be treated differently for exercising any of the above. Asking us to delete your data will never change the price or the service you get.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also object to processing based on legitimate interest, ask us to restrict it while a dispute is resolved, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in California, you can additionally ask us to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We collect none, so there is nothing to limit, but the right stands as well.
How to use those rights
Write to info@adnius.com with the word Privacy in the subject line and tell us what you want. That is the whole procedure. There is no form to fill in and no account to create.
We reply within thirty days, and in practice within two business days. It costs nothing. We may need to confirm it is really you, which usually means nothing more than replying from the same address you wrote to us with.
If we cannot do what you asked, we will tell you why in plain words, and you can appeal by replying to that same email. If you are still not satisfied, you can take it to your local data protection authority, or in the United States to your state attorney general.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not aimed at anyone under sixteen and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us something, write to us and it is deleted the same day.
Where your data travels
We work across three continents, so information can be processed outside the country you are in. Our servers are in the United States, and some of our work also touches Venezuela.
When data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and we choose providers who have committed to them. If you want to know which safeguard applies to a specific service, ask and we will tell you.
How we protect it
The site runs over an encrypted connection, access to the systems that hold your data is limited to the people who need it, and backups are encrypted and stored separately.
Being honest about it: no system is perfect and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority within the time the law allows, and we will tell you what we are doing about it.
Changes to this policy
When we change something, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the version number goes up. Minor edits go in quietly. If we ever change something that materially affects your rights, and you are on our list, you will get an email about it before it takes effect.
